THE PATH THAT BROUGHT US HERE
From a website for exchanging languages through chat to an English school with live classes, courses, and apps. This is Papora's story.
PenpalParade is born
Jake, the founder, was learning Spanish and wanted more people to be able to learn the way he did: by talking. He launched a website that connected people around the world through text and voice chat.
Rebranding, Papora is born
Three years later, the name changed. The platform relaunched on September 26, the European Day of Languages, with a new name: Papora, a language from Taiwan that is now extinct.
Two awards for the project
Papora won the InvEnterPrise Award from Aberystwyth University and the Shell LiveWire Award to keep growing.
First self-guided course
The first levels of the General English self-guided course launched, with a method built around everyday situations.
Full focus on teaching English
Papora decided to focus solely on teaching English and kept releasing new levels of the self-guided course.
A new identity
Papora refreshed its logo and colors, moving to a more modern, fresh identity that reflects how the brand has grown.
The team starts to grow
Papora brought more people on board to strengthen its operations and support the platform's growth, laying the groundwork for what came next.

Unlimited classes
Papora launched something that didn't exist online yet: a plan with unlimited English classes for a fixed monthly price.
Papora opens up to companies
Companies can now train their teams with special plans and their own admin dashboard.
The Papora app arrives
Papora launched on iOS and Android, so you can learn English from anywhere.

Yes! Once you complete your payment, you’ll get immediate access to all our English levels, from B1 (intermediate) to C1 (advanced).
Papora offers flexible schedules so you can choose the one that best fits your routine and needs, allowing you to learn at your own pace. In the Classes tab, you’ll find the schedules for all live classes, along with information about the different teachers available. Explore all the options and choose the one that works best for you!
Like any new skill, how long it takes to learn depends on how much time you dedicate to practicing. We guarantee that after just a few classes with Papora, you’ll notice the difference. From there, it’s a matter of consistency and dedication to practice.
We want you to feel confident in your decision. If Papora isn’t for you, you can cancel by emailing support@papora.com within the first 14 days or before taking your third live class, whichever comes first. We’ll refund 100% of your money. Once you take your third live class, a refund is no longer possible, even if you’re still within the 14 days.
Our courses are designed for people aged 15 and up.
